If the GOOD Outweighs the BAD Featured

If the GOOD outweighs the BAD Then HEAVEN? If the GOOD outweighs the BAD Then HEAVEN?

Every person on earth if asked whether they consider themselves to be good would say, "yes". We compare ourselves to each other, “I’m better than so and so.” This lie has been around forever. Just what is required for entry into Heaven? What does the Bible say? What is the TRUTH?

Let’s take a real world example.  Let’s say you always use cloth bags at the grocery store (saving trees and not filling our dump with plastic), you help little old ladies, and you are kind and generous. Great! But let’s also say that you are late one day and get pulled over for speeding on I25, 85mph in a 75mph zone. Will the officer say, “Oh, well I see that you have done a lot of good in your life, so I will just overlook this offense. I will rip up your ticket.” No, that would not be just to all of the lives that you put in danger by breaking the speed limit. He will give you the ticket and say, “You must pay the fine or show up in court.” This is how it works in the physical world, so it is also true in the spiritual world. The Bible, God’s revealed word, says, “For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.” James 2:10. And what is the penalty of breaking the spiritual law? A fine? A slap on the wrist? Just think, if God would allow every “good” person into Heaven, it would look exactly like earth with all the pain and suffering caused by our selfish choices. Here is the truth:

We have all broken God’s spiritual laws and the penalty for breaking one law is eternal separation from God. The Bible describes it as a place of outer darkness and gnashing of teeth. But this is the JOY of EASTER & CHRISTMAS: God sent his son, Jesus, to pay the penalty for all of our offenses when he died the most brutal death on the cross. Anyone who puts their trust in this payment ALONE is going to Heaven. You cannot add good works to it. After you believe: you are clothed with Jesus's righteousness (God views you as justified or "just as if I never sinned") and your spirit is reborn (you become a new creation). Then as you follow Him, God gets you ready for Heaven by cleansing you little by little, changing you from glory to glory until you reach your full potential. And finally, when you have kept the faith, run the good race, and finished the course, you will receive a glorified body and enter Heaven.

Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.” Philippians 1:6

But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 3:18

Be sure to check out the short movie below that goes deeper into this topic.

If you have never believed and surrendered your life to Jesus Christ it is simple to do, just pray this prayer from the heart:

Dear God, I know that I have broken Your laws and done many things that displeased You. Please forgive me. I believe that Jesus died to pay the penalty for my sins, was buried, and was raised again on the third day proving that death has no power over Him and that He can also raise me up to eternal life with Him forever. I surrender control of my life to You. From now on, I commit to obey You and to read the Bible to learn Your best plan for my life. Please work on my life and make me like You. When I stumble in the future, I will not hide it. I will be quick to confess my sin to You and allow You to cleanse me from all unrighteousness. In Jesus name, Amen.

Let’s dive in deeper to understand this. No one can say it better than the apostle Paul...
